Look at whats happening in Year 5/6

In Art, we looked at different propaganda posters fro World War Two and then we designed and created our own.
For Election Day, Year 5/6 spent time researching the different parties and analysing their manifestos. As a class, we had a class vote, as well as a whole school vote. We visited the polling station in school to cast our vote.
The Year 6 boys completed Kids Connect and received their own certificates and medals.
Class 11 had a visit from Bub the artist. During our visit, we focused on mindfulness and ‘positive pebbles and pondering’. The children designed and painted their own pebbles as part of the session.
In Art, the children designed and created their own World War Two battlefield scene.

“Yesterday we celebrated World Mental Health day. The day provided an opportunity for the children to achieve better mental health and spread awareness. Social media is often scrutinised for having an impact on children’s mental health. This guide is designed to encourage trusted adults to think about their children’s mental health and their social media activities.”
Year 5/6 spent the morning learning some new Judo techniques, the children learnt a lot about how to defend yourself in Judo.
The Year 5/6
During Music, we learnt different traditional War Songs, and learnt the importance of music during the War.
